Veneer Stone Basics
What Is Thin Veneer Stone?
Thin veneer stone can either be manufactured (man-made) using concrete based products, or natural stone quarried from the ground. Either way thin veneer differs from full size veneer by its size, thickness and weight. We do not sell full size veneer at Pantano – we do sell a great collection of thin veneer stone, both natural and manufactured. Thin veneer is anywhere from approximately 3/4″ to 1-1/2 thick, whereas full size veneer is typically 3″ thyick or thicker. The modest thickness of thin veneer stone allows even natural stone (which is typically heavier than manufactured stone) to fall within certain building code weight limits for the walls where the stone is installed. Thin veneer typically is equally suited to indoor or outdoor installations. The most common applications for the product are outdoor and indoor fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, on the outside of the home as a house facade, as columns, door surrounds, and more.
